Mr. Michael Lloyd
Mr. Michael Lloyd is a native of Atlanta, GA. He graduated from the Performing Arts Magnet program at North Atlanta High School. He has played the trombone and tuba in several bands. He was a member of the GMEA 5th District Honor band, and served as a drum major for North Atlanta High School.
Mr. Lloyd graduated Magna Cum Laude from Tennessee State University, where he majored in Music Education. He was a founding member of the Tuba Den ensemble. The ensemble performed for the MENC National Convention in Nashville, TN in 2002.
While at Tennessee State, Mr. Lloyd served the band as a drum major. The TSU Band performed for the Country Music Awards in 2005. Mr. Lloyd was also a member of the Phi Mu Alpha Sifonia International Music Fraternity, Alpha Kappa Mu Academic Fraternity and the Gold Key International Honor Society.
Mr. Lloyd is a member of MENC/GMEA and NEA. He has served as the Music Theory instructor for the Urban Youth Harp Ensemble in Atlanta. He is married to Mrs. Robin Jones-Fuqua Lloyd and they are the parents of a daughter.
